Volunteer Week Morning Tea

Updated: Jul 10, 2021

We wouldn't be able to do the work we do without the help of our amazing volunteers. Last month we thanked our volunteers and partners with a morning tea in celebration of National Volunteer Week. We'd like to thank our event partners, Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Community Bank Highett for making the morning tea a success!

Some exciting announcements

During the morning tea, we proudly announced our community partnership with Community Bank Highett. We also announced our very first goodwill ambassador, 9 News journalist, Mark Santomartino.

Music, food and gifts!

Our guests were treated to special musical performances by Luca Kocent & Jenny Ellison Gee. Thank you both, you were amazing!

Thank you also to local traders for donations of goodies for our amazing hampers & goodie bags:

Congratulations to our very deserving hamper winners: Margaret Malloch Walker, Rosalind Chamberlain & Bec L Mclean. Our hampers & goodie bags were worth approximately $800-$1,000 and included items generously donated by local traders!! A sensational community effort!

A huge thank you to all our helpers on the day - Erica Wearne, Denise Dodd, Lisa Oertle, Tomicka Brook, Rosalind Chamberlain,Vesna Devcic, Katrina Krongold , Nikki Anthony & the helpers from Highett Neighbourhood Community House.

We'd also like to thank our speakers Natalie Driessen-Gerdan from Community Bank Highett ( our community partners!), our lovely Deputy Mayor Sonia Castelli from Bayside City Council, Victoria , our almost as lovely Brad Rowswell (who donated the calorific chocolate hamper!!) & Kate Knight from Highett Neighbourhood Community House.

We would not have been able to come to the aid of so many in dire need without the help of our community volunteers. We thank you all.

Please spread the word about our community charity. The more members we have, the more we can help.
