Bayside Community Emergency Relief is achieving more with our initiatives than ever before. We work on many exciting projects to help improve the lives of others, and are very proud of the progress we continue to make. Who We are
We are a grass roots charity that was formed after the mammoth, co ordinated contributions the community made during the January 2020 bushfires. 100% volunteer run & community driven ,we mobilise the community in times of emergencies. People often want to help in an emergency but are not sure how to. Our model ensures that people can contribute the correct items & get them to their destination in the fastest possible manner & to help the highest amount possible of those in need. Together we have helped thousands of people as well as wildlife.
As a registered charity we are fully transparent & accountable. We follow strict charity regulations and there is a vast amount of work that goes on away from social media.
We have a board and committee and a healthy volunteer army with more to come.
Our secretary ensures we follow governance procedures and handles annual reporting to official government regulators. Our Treasurer manages our accounting software so our financials are ready for auditing. We focus more on requesting donations of specific goods but due to the volume of aid we need to supply we also require funds to purchase items that aren’t donated. ALL monetary donations are made via approved charity donation platforms and all monetary donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Financial reports are lodged with the government authorities annually. In the case of our grants won we also complete acquittal forms outlining where every cent has been spent.
We have a robust volunteer data base and our army of volunteers help sort & attend packing sessions. Counting of items is done by several people & photographically documented & posted online so everyone can see where all the donations go. We also post proof of delivery to the many orgs we support.
We are fortunate to not only have the backing of our amazing community but also numerous businesses and government authorities. We have this much appreciated support as our model works time & time again with over $1 million in urgently needed aid including thousands of comfort packs delivered since conception.
Our virtual doors are always open & we encourage people to join in where they would like to help. We encourage everyone to share this group. The more members we have the more our community can help.

2020 : A Reflection
2020 was an unrelenting whirlwind of activity from January 1st right through. We produced over 2,000 Covid Comfort packs for numerous organisations in the last 3 months of the year and we suspect had approx $1,000,000 in requested goods donated for the bushfires, covid relief and other emergency callouts. Since becoming a charity in late March 2020 our community has helped at least 29 organisations and thousands of individuals. As a 100% volunteer run, community driven group, everyone should be very proud of what our community has achieved.

Disasters such as bushfires and floods.
During the January 2020 bushfires, we mobilised over 6300 in the Bayside Community to donate requested items for those communities and wildlife shelters affected.

Helping Our Community
We help our community for emergency relief in two key areas - aged care for the vulnerable in not for profit homes and children affected by domestic violence. We also help when required in isolated local emergencies.
