2026 People First Community Lottery

We're taking part in the 2026 People First Community Lottery to help raise vital funds for emergency relief, with a particular focus on providing much needed non perishable food for people doing it tough in the community..
You can support us by purchasing tickets for just $2 each. Every ticket helps us continue supporting our local community and gives you the chance to win one of 41 prizes worth over $300,000.

Every ticket is another chance to win while making a real difference to local people in need.

2026 Xmas in July
A huge thank you to everyone who donated to and attended our Christmas in July fundraiser at Brighton Town Hall. It was another action packed and memorable evening! We even made the channel 7 news!
We are incredibly grateful to our amazing community for generously donating prizes, decorations, and their time. It truly takes a village, and we couldn't do it without you.

With an incredible 184 lots up for bidding, generously donated by our wonderful community and generous traders, our 4th Mega Annual Auction Fundraiser was an absolute triumph!

Music Bingo Fundraiser Success!
We are thrilled to announce that our Music Bingo fundraiser in March 2025 at Black Rock Yacht Club was a huge success! A big thank you to over 160 people who attended and made the night so much fun.

2024 Mega Annual Auction Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual online auction fundraiser!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible community for your generous donations, as well as to the following traders who contributed to our cause.
We've made just over $13,000 & had a whopping 160 bidders. Our biggest auction yet!

First Annual Xmas in July
Thank you to all who donated to & attended our Xmas in July at Brighton Town Hall. It was truly an electric night!
A huge thank you goes out to our community for their generosity in donating prizes, decorations, and time. It really does take a village!
Special thanks to Yuri Peress from Py Photo for generously donating his photography services and capturing amazing images from the night. A shoutout also goes to Visual Statements for their fantastic job decorating our community donated Christmas trees.
We couldn't have had such a rocking night without Tim & the team from Purple Soup, our trivia hosts who kept the energy high! Our steering committee did an amazing job. Thanks to Patricia, Steph, Tracy, Sam, Bo & Tomicka. And thanks to Peta for help on the day & night!

Pre-Mother's Day Mini Fundraiser
This year requests for our aid has significantly grown & we are self funding even more. April 20, we held a mini (approx 40-50 items) auction. Our community picked up some gifts for Mum, Grand Mum & even something for Dad & the kids!
All our items were generously donated by our sensational community!

As a 100% volunteer run, unfunded local charity, our fundraisers are incredibly important to our community mission. All the proceeds directly support the many initiatives we undertake to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.

2023 Morning Tea for National Volunteer Week
Our 3rd annual Thank You Morning Tea for volunteers during National Volunteer Week was a huge success.
We thank Bayside City Council for their generous grant to fund this event. Also thanks to Yuri Peress at PY-PHOTO for once more taking sensational photos of the morning. And to the sublimely talented Jenny Ellison Entertainment for providing the music & the amazing volunteers at Black Rock House for joining forces on this years event. What a fabulous setting! Also to our special helpers on the day too!

Xmas Gift Wrapping Stall @ Westfield
Wishing you all a happy Christmas & festive season, & a safe, healthy & prosperous new year.
What better way to express the festive community spirit! ...it takes a village! We celebrate another successful fundraiser at Westfield Southland's gift wrapping stall with around over $1200 raised for our 2023 initiatives.

2022 Inaugural Mega Annual Auction Fundraiser
We ended our annual auction fundraiser on 30 October. A record 142 people bid this year and we raised $11,086. This equates to thousands of items for people in need.
A heartfelt thank you to our superhero donors both from our sensational community and businesses below for supporting our annual fundraiser. Also to the amazing Jane Morison & Chris P for help with prizes & special thanks to donors listed on the post.

Johnny Vegas Event
The sensational Johnny Vegas & Onyx Cafe Cheltenham, held a sell out fundraiser for us in October 2022.
Around 100 people enjoyed a huge night filled with great food, friendly faces and epic entertainment. Many happy people left with prizes won through the raffles & auction. All up $1,984 was raised which is a significant help with our ongoing aid relief. Many thanks to all involved!

This is our way to thank our amazing volunteer community & was made possible this year thanks to a Federal government grant that will also go to 3 other community initiatives.

Xmas Gift Wrapping Stall @ Westfield
BCER ran the Xmas gift wrapping stall at Westfield Southland for 5 days in the lead up to Xmas.
It was amazing to be among people & see the complex come to life once more. Our volunteers had a ball & we all met some wonderful new people. As a parting surprise gift for 2021 we received a very generous donation from Trinity Uniting Church in Brighton & another amazing unexpected donation we will announce when given the green light.

2021 Morning Tea for National Volunteer Week
In May we held our inaugural Thank You Morning Tea for National Volunteer Week. This was held in conjunction with Highett Neighbourhood Community House & Community Bank Highett.
During the tea we were generously presented with a giant cheque for a grant & were proud to be announced as Community Partners with Community Bank Highett. The event included a raffle of 3 amazing hampers and every guest also received a goodie bag full of treat from local traders. We guesstimate approx. $800-$1k in generously donated items were handed out that morning!
Kingston Council also awarded us a grant to help create comfort packs for 2 aged care residences & packing is currently underway for that initiative.
